Work is cool. Tomorrow we have actual actors coming in and they are going to be doing a motion capture session. We got new computer work stations and dual screens. Kinda cool! So were all starting to get all cozy with each other. Some of the local people invited us out for turtle racing. Here's how the conversation went:
me: Racing turtles . . . are you high? That's like watching paint dry.
Matt: no, really it's so cool. We'd thought you guys might be interested in going to local places. They have all of the college[LSU is right up the street] girls pick a turtle. Then they have to put the turtle on the ground without bending their knees (insert male giggles here). Then they have to pick the one that's gonna win without pointing; do you know how hard that is after a few drinks?! You have to pay $5 for the first time you point and $20 for the second.
me: you're kidding.
-pause-
me: Dammit I wanna go! I already have a prior arrangement
Matt and others: Sucks to be you!
Great. Oh well. I think family is more important right now. In any case all is pretty ok. I did my first run down here. Man lemme tell you, hills always seem smaller in a car. Luckily the terrain is more gradual hills and not sharp like the one by my house. I did 2.5 miles in about 23 min. Not bad for all the freakin hills.
Here's the link to the turtle races!
