Now it's really Day One

Having spent two mornings here I have come to realize that the not so distant sounds of shrill airplane turbines taking off and landing means that it's time to wake up. Today we had to be at the studio at 0830 to fill out paperwork and prepare for training all week. But now that I have signed and official non-disclosure agreement (NDA) I can't tell ya nothin. Well I can tell you the highlights.

Found out that the company I work for, Image Movers Digital, is actually owned by Disney; so at any moment I'm waiting for the announcement that we get free admission to all Disney parks. I know it will happen. I just gotta wait. I also found out that I love craft services. For those who don't know, craft services is basically a food catering service on set. Our craft servies provides breakfast, lunch and snack for days on end. And not just any snack, snacks from Trader Joe’s. Like it wasn’t bad enough that I couldn’t stop eating while I was working at TJ’s. And on a good note they have tons and tons of fruit which also happens to be from Trader Joe’s. I swear it follows me. And I just couldn’t and can’t stop eating. I swear this is so bad for me. In any case work is fun. Granted, were still training this week but they made it very clear that we should expect 12 hour days in the coming months.

There are a lot of interesting things about this company. Like a lot of the software is being built and adapted as part of the workflow. I don't think I have ever been in an environment where input and comments were actually implemented. The peeps are pretty cool. Thank gawd they aren't the super nerdy type or gamer type. They actually are all pretty skateboadery laid back type of people.

I'm actually pretty exhausted and my breath stinks. I need to brush my teeth. More to come. Oh and they have a strict rule against visitors and cameras of any kind; so much so that they don't really allow cell phones. So if ya call me and it goes to voicemail or rings for days it's because my crap is in my car in the federal security like parking lot.
