Sant Monica Women's Rugby at San Luis Obispo

So the team participated in a 7's (7 people per team) tournament this last weekend. The day started off nice wrapped in fog. Left LA around 430 and got home around 2300. Overall SMWRC went to the finals and won but not before a few "disagreements" between the coaches. The picture is of a raging wildfire that burst out before one of my games. It was a bit distracting but as the spirit of rugby goes we "played on". We played with plumes of smoke and a rain of brush ashes. I was shocked that it took the fire department a full 12 minutes to get there. And on top of the the Lieutenant got there first, in his SUV, what the hell is he supposed to do? Anyway, It was good times. It's actually called the "Tri-Tip Sevens Tournament", but I heard the tri-tip wasn't that great.
