So I finally got LASIK and it has probably been the best decision of my life thus far. It has been about a week and my doctor seems to think that my vision will be settling in for the next few years as 20/15; superhero status! He thought I may have needed a touch up surgery because of my bad astigmatism but everything went better than well. It really is a strange feeling waking up and seeing immediately. Took my motorcycle out and OMG, I never realized how much I couldn't see because of my glasses. Being rimless is awesome and so exciting. Being in front of my computer at work for 12 hours is much more jarring now. I actually have to lean back in my chair and relax my eyes to take everything in. Even though my screen is at its dimmest I still feel the need to wear my shades by the end of the day.
The price I have to pay for this freedom is fairly high though. No surfing, rugby, soccer, working out, steam rooms, running or anything that involves water and sweat for 2 months. Dr. Lee's office says 2 months while the rest of the world says a few weeks. But I'm assuming Dr. Lee has such a great track record because of his higher than average restrictions. Oh well. The upside to all of these restrictions is of course my eyesight but also I was thinking of doing the master cleanse diet to clear my system and reset myself form the past 2 years of crap craft services foods and processed food I eat every day. We shall see.
