It's ok, Calm down. I'm not dead. I just haven't been bloggin around much lately. Ya know life, living the struggle. Whatever. But this is post 601.
It is October again. It comes around every year but this time it's gonna be better if not more awesomer than last year. You may or may not remember the debacle that occurred last year in the parks. It's a few posts down. Well this year I'm comin in harder than ever. I now have my Princess Tiana costume 2.0! Technically there are parts of this thing that are 3.0 but overall lets call this 2.0. First off the flower accessory at my waist. I dyed the flower stem a very dark green to contrast it against the rest of my dress. It is now ore true to the color scheme in the parks. I remade the necklace and earrings. There wasn't anything terribly wrong with them before. They were, however silver and not gold. I was willing to take that becasue A) it was free and B) Generously given to me by a friend. I took the template of her designs and remade the strands with a thicker gauge filament and a little more flare and a pendant very close to the park version. It came out really well. Yay me. Necklace 2.0. Another friend of mine has a mother than make wedding dresses for a living. Somehow the topic of my dress came up and she helped me hem the petticoat which was much too long and reinforce the waistline to endure more wear and tear. Earlier in the year I bought a shawl/cowl thing when I was wearing the diluted version of the dress during the 24hour event. It was cold and I didn't want to wear a jacket over the corset part. That is currently being worked on and more pieces added to it. My crown. Also a very long story but that crown was worked on by a friend. She did a fantastic job. Like amazing. Almost cried about it amazing. But of course I got psycho on it so now I'm making a 3.0 version of it. I'm taking my time with it and of course the longer I look at my handywork, the more issues I'm finding with it. Whatever. Also, I'm wearing new shoes. I had this great idea several years ago when I went to a lot weddings to buy ballroom dancing/character shoes. Soft, pliable, comfortable. But they don't last long. As long as I don't treat them like normal shoes and wear them every day I would be fine. The new pair (I had to order) also look very close to the character shoes worn in Disneyland.
So you can see how there is a combination of 2.0 and 3.0, awesome.
