Bellona Creek and Watershed

This isn't the best picture but there were tons of fish in the creek today. At first I thought they were catfish but realized the conditions are not conducive to that species. And they didn't have whisker. Them I figured they had to be some kind of trout. A hardy species that could tolerate fresh and salt water. I Googled it at work and I was right! Yay, one point for the biologist deep in me. Turns out they are steelhead trout. I guess LA is making an effort to restore the watershed and has dropped a bunch of trout in the water to boost the eco system. Now I have leave early from my place in the morning and feed them my moldy bread.
